Today I was invited to attend the Lithgow Ability Awards 2017.
this was organised and presented by
--Lithgow City Council with Uniting Ability Links--
I was very honored and surprised to receive the invitation stating I had been nominated in one of the categories.

I was very honored and surprised to receive the invitation stating I had been nominated in one of the categories.
Obviously with the roll-up of nominees I felt I wouldn't have a chance, although I was definitely very proud to have been nominated and invited to attend the special Afternoon High Tea Ceremony.
It was a great privilege, seeing the list of nominees, finalists, and winners in the different categories gaining their acknowledgements and awards.

When it came time to announce the winner of the category
- Community Leader Award -
I was stunned and shocked to hear my name being called out as the winner and mentioning all the work I do.
Naturally I was speechless, and unable to say anything.

so now I have gained my composure and it has actually sunk in, I would like the thank everyone involved and for the great recognition they have shown me.
I would also like to congratulate everyone that was nominated and commended for the great work they continually provide to our local community.
